Scintillation light increase of carbontetrafluoride gas at low temperature

Scintillation detector is widely used for the particle detection in field of physics. Particle detectors containing fluorine-19 ($^{19}\mathrm{F}$) are known to have advantages Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) dark matter search, especially spin-dependent interactions with WIMPs due its spin structure. In this study, scintillation properties carbontetrafluoride ($\mathrm{CF_{4}}$) gas at low temperature was evaluated because dependence light yield has not been measured. We by cooling from room (300K) 263K. As a result, $\mathrm{CF_{4}}$ found increase $(41.0\pm4.0_{\rm stat.}\pm6.6_{\rm syst.})\%$ and energy resolution also improve temperature.

Pion gas viscosity at low temperature and density

By using chiral perturbation theory and the Uehling-Uhlenbeck equation we compute the viscosity of a pion gas, in the low temperature and low density regime, in terms of the temperature and the pion fugacity. The viscosity turns out to be proportional to the square root of the temperature over the pion mass. Next to leading corrections are proportional to the temperature over the pion mass to 3/2.
